Martin Davis, 15 years of age, and Luca Levee, 14, were selected for outstanding performances by the Valencia CF coaches in the Next Generation VCF camps in 2010 and 2011 respectively.
Currently thanks to the Next Generation Valencia CF project they are training in Spain using the Next Generation methodology. This is a pioneering method for the development of talent of young footballers through a program of comprehensive education that is highlighted by the transmission of knowledge and specific abilities in the context of high performance football.
The Jamaican public was made aware of the progress of these two youngsters during the press conference held on Friday, the 23rd of March held to announce the launching of the third Next Generation Valencia CF camp in the country. In this presentation held at the Spanish Court Hotel in Kingston, her Excellency Ambassador of Spain, Celsa Nuno as well as TNGS Regional Director, Victor Salazar, and Howard Mcintosh, Director of Football/ Development had the opportunity to discuss their development via Skype with both Martin, and Luca as well as with one of their coaches and tutor José Ángel Herrera. The television stations and media in general in Jamaica learnt in firsthand the evolution and the roadmap of these young men that are growing not only in the sphere of football but more importantly as persons. Their fluency in spoken Spanish language and their awareness of tactical understanding for the sport were well received by all.
