Thirteen coaches from different regions in Sweden and Norway have experienced the philosophy of Valencia CF during the 6th and 9th of April. Twenty lecture hours both theoretical and practical, of the methodology, recruiting systems, tactical organization, session design and others, have being taught at the Valencia CF Foundation conference room and at the Paterna Ciudad Deportiva facilities.

They also enjoyed the culture, eating Mediterranean cuisine, like paella or fideua, walking in the streets of Valencia and interacting with locals. In the football realm, they observed matches from many Valencia CF sides of different age groups, from the U10 Valencia CF side category as well as the first team as they went to see them play against Real Valladolid in La Liga match at the Mestalla Stadium. The result was an enriching experience for both sides, Next Generation Valencia CF and our new friends from Scandinavia. There are many more things to come from this new relationship.

On Thursday 28 September the new signing from Valencia CF, Andres Guardado, invited our Next Generation VCF Mexican player to visit Mestalla and chat with them on the grass.

It was a great time for our players meeting the Mexican crack and share with him their Spanish experiences while recalling what they have been missing from their homeland; the family and some typical dishes. He also wanted to make some helpful tips to continue to pursue with their dream of becoming professional footballers at Valencia CF. The boys had the detail of gifting him a Next Generation polo shirt signed by all of them and also some typical Mexican sweets, being that the next day he was celebrating his birthday.

The player from Guadalajara wanted to know more about the Next Generation Program and its new projects for the Valencia CF internationalization to open the Valencian club closer to everyone around the world.

It was an amazing time for the NG players so we want to thank Andrés for his friendliness and kindness during all the morning. We hope him all the best for this season and all the next ones that are coming with the Valencia CF.

Amunt Principito!

Martin Davis, 15 years of age, and Luca Levee, 14, were selected for outstanding performances by the Valencia CF coaches in the Next Generation VCF camps in 2010 and 2011 respectively.

Currently thanks to the Next Generation Valencia CF project they are training in Spain using the Next Generation methodology. This is a pioneering method for the development of talent of young footballers through a program of comprehensive education that is highlighted by the transmission of knowledge and specific abilities in the context of high performance football.

The Jamaican public was made aware of the progress of these two youngsters during the press conference held on Friday, the 23rd of March held to announce the launching of the third Next Generation Valencia CF camp in the country. In this presentation held at the Spanish Court Hotel in Kingston, her Excellency Ambassador of Spain, Celsa Nuno as well as TNGS Regional Director, Victor Salazar, and Howard Mcintosh, Director of Football/ Development had the opportunity to discuss their development via Skype with both Martin, and Luca as well as with one of their coaches and tutor José Ángel Herrera. The television stations and media in general in Jamaica learnt in firsthand the evolution and the roadmap of these young men that are growing not only in the sphere of football but more importantly as persons. Their fluency in spoken Spanish language and their awareness of tactical understanding for the sport were well received by all.

Valencia CF were the biggest winners of the 2012 Kappa Classic as the club won two of the six cups available as well as being handed an invitation to compete in the Disney Cup International Youth Soccer Tournament this summer. The club, based at Saltus Grammar School, claimed both the Under-10 and Under-14 titles, with the former granted the right to compete in Orlando, Florida. Facing off against Dandy Town in the Under-10 division final, Valencia ran out 2-0 winners while the Under-14’s also beat their St John’s Road rivals 1-0 to lay claim to their title. For the first time ever, local teams can register for the Disney Cup without having to go via a third party such as XL Tours or any other overseas based agency, thanks to Cal Blankendal who has set up his own sports tour company. North Village and Somerset Trojans have travelled to Disney in previous years, with Village winning the Under-nine division last year. The annual spectacle will be held from July 16t to 21 at Disney’s ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, with invitation to the tournament including free registration, free accommodation at Disney and free transport. The side will be guaranteed four games, with progression through the group stages providing more games. “This exciting and unprecedented package represents Bermuda’s most dynamic sporting award for youth-based, grass roots football clubs,” said Blankendal. “We know that Valencia FC will represent Bermuda proudly and that with the growth of BSMG (Bermuda Sports Management Group) and Kappa, we will be ambitious and work tirelessly to continue to support you, Bermuda’s outstanding clubs and athletes.” Kappa member Craig Tyrrell said he was pleased with the news and believed it is a step in the right direction.
